CHARLES RODNEY KENNEY was the State Referee Administrator for Florida (formerly Florida State Referees, FSR, now FLSRC) from 1988 to 1991. Referee Articles and Courses authored:
Rodney was the co-author of the US Soccer Assignors course now being used nation wide. He has written numerous articles in soccer refereeing periodicals, such as the United States Soccer Federation’s “Fair Play”, Florida Referee’s “Goal”, NISOA Magazine, Referee Magazine, and the English “FA Referee Magazine and numerous Web sites.
Coaching:
Soccer coaching experience began in 1978 coaching a youth team his son Chris, played on. From 1978 until 1990 coached many boys’ teams from age 8 to 19.
From 1990 to 1998 coached an amateur women’s team in Jacksonville Florida with a 121-12 record.
From 1990 to 2002 he coached Orange Park High School in Florida with a 248-42 record.
In 2009 became the head coach at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida.
As a girls’ high school soccer coach won his 300th high school game in 2012 while coaching at Hagerty High School in Florida.
Voted 1996 Florida Girls’ High School Coach of the year while coaching at Orange Park High School.
Voted 2012 Florida 5A girls’ High School Coach of the year and NSCAA Division 1 Florida Girls coach of the Year, while coaching at Hagerty High School.
Served as interim head women’s coach at the University of North Florida in 1996 with a 12-7 record.
Continued as the assistant women’s coach at University of North Florida from 1997 – 2001
Served as the assistant women’s coach at Stetson University 2002 – 2008
Coached the Florida High School State All-stars four times.
Head Coach of the Florida Women’s Amateur Select team for two years.
Director of Player Personal for the Jacksonville Jade, a W-League team in Jacksonville, Florida.
