Open letter to Assessors & Instructors-August 20, 2018

Ladies & Gentlemen, Good morning.

“This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it.”

    -Ralph Waldo Emerson

My family once gave me a T shirt that says “The Older I Get, The Better I Was”.  It seems that I may be like a lot of others and reflect back on the “good ole days” when things seemed “better”, and made more “sense”.

The thing is, as the line in Carly Simon’s song goes “These are the good old days”.  It’s easy to reflect back where we can selectively remember circumstances that seemed better than now.  But as Emerson said; “This time, is a very good time, if we but know what to do with it”.  There’s a reason the windshield on a vehicle is a lot bigger than the rearview mirrors.  It lets us see down the road & get the big picture, so we can make the best decision now to affect the best outcome in the future.

Look ahead, learn from the past, make the best of this time, and “these times will be the best times”.

4 recertification clinics for Assessor and Instructor have been completed. The number one out of all of them is this. Why do I need to do this when it worked in the past? We do not live in the past we live now. The new theories and ideas are being used in the modern game. Learn how to blend the past with the present. It may surprise you on how well it works. web site is where you can start your learning of new techniques. From teaching videos, up coming events to FIFA considerations can be found here.

FLSRC is always open to ideas. Provided the ideas are for the benefit of ALL, not ME!
